Cabernet Merlot: Made from select parcels of Cabernet from our northern Clare Valley vineyards, this Cabernet Merlot is classic in both aroma and flavour. Aromas of red currents and olive leaf lead into a palate with flavours of red currants and cedar from the Cabernet, raspberry and cinnamon spice from the Merlot. The tannins are soft and juicy and pull the palate through to a moreish finish.

Vintage:The 2018 growing season in the Clare Valley can generally be described as classic. Above average rainfalls and mild temperatures over winter and spring led to excellent cropping levels and a later than usual start to grape picking. Continued cool nights over summer meant that both Cabernet and Merlot grapes were harvested in March with wonderfully generous flavours of bright red currants, raspberry and cinnamon spice.
Winemaking: The wine was made with a responsive winemaking approach to preserve fruit purity. The fruit was machine picked and gently destemmed to retain whole berries then into static fermenters. The berries where then allowed to wild ferment and stayed on their skins for 14 days to release the tannins and flavours. The wine was then put to oak until bottling. The wine was stabilised prior to filtration and bottling
